Do Not Deny Your Soul.

This blog post differs from the norm of what I have posted — but not really.

My message is platformed by my passion to see people healed from the inside out, especially when serving God.

I learned yesterday that a young woman I met about five years ago during my time at a my old church decided that it was time for her to end her suffering. She is no longer earth side. Whether or not you believe that if a person that commits to such an act goes to heaven is not the basis of why I am writing to you today. The whole premise of my writing to you is to more explicitly convey what drives every message and blog post that I write: inner healing.

If it hasn’t been obvious enough, I am driven by the desire to see people heal; not just for themselves but for the people that they are connected to and the generations that will proceed from them. Curses, patterns, wealth, and healing are all passed down in like manner — generationally. When we do not spend the time to sit with our children to discuss pitfalls to avoid and proclivities that that have landed the family in dangerous positions, our children and the generations following are doomed to repeat them until someone in the family takes a stand to say, “It ran in the family until it ran into me.”

Anyway this situation that I was thinking of made me think about how many Christians and people in places of service are walking around serving people with a wounded, bleeding heart due to traumatic and extremely painful life circumstances. Due to their inability to deal with the wounding of their soul, we thereby use spirituality as a crutch.

It is especially Christians who fail to realize that when Christ died He died for your soul. Your spirit is regenerated, Your body is being sanctified and perfected daily but your soul is what He died for. Your soul is constantly choosing a reality daily: it is choosing between the reality of the flesh or the reality of the spirit.

In your soul is your mind, will and emotions. When trauma occurs, it too occurs in the soul. While it may enter through the body via rape, molestation, or by virtue of the fact that you live on this earth it is experienced through the body, but processed in the soul. Demons and the devil also torment you through your soul and this is where it gets tricky; you see everything through the lens of your pain. Your pain colors how you conflict because any situation remotely similar to “that” moment, causes you to go into survival mode. Your pain colors how you conduct your relationships. Your pain even influences your humor.

This is why we need to heal: the broken parts of our soul need not be the shard of glass that cuts another, conversely our healed wounds can be a mirror to another that this is where you can be when you surrender yourself to the Potter’s hands. You are molded. Though agonizing, this pain is to conform you into the image of God pruning out what is not of Him. Casting demons out via spiritual deliverance, proper education/counseling, or rightly dividing the word of truth is only the beginning. Healing is for a lifetime but it begins by being honest. Our emotions make us like the One who created us. He, too, has emotions and expresses them in His dealings with us. God gets jealous; He grieves; He regrets.

This is my sincere plea not to deny your soul. Journal; schedule time with that therapist; have an honest conversation with someone you trust. Just don’t lie about what is going on on the inside.

Healing is not just a one and done deal. Healing is a process. Healing is messy, Healing comes in layers but healing is so necessary.

In the soul your spiritual experiences are enhanced. I pray please do not deny your soul.
