This is out of the realm of the things that I usually write, however this is a message that the collective Church needs to hear. To my fellow believers, brothers and sisters in the faith, please share, comment, discuss, give feedback. Do all but remain apathetic. God bless you.

Earlier this month I sensed the Lord putting it on my heart for me to pull back from all social activities that I generally participate in outside the scope of my church or school obligations. It’s usually how He lets me know that He wants to deal with me in a specific area, so I knew I would be in for an intense spiritual period given the weight of the prompting. The word I got for the month of March was agitation, so I was bracing myself for what was to come for myself. Little did I know that it was on a grander scale. Two weeks later, the Corona virus shook the whole world. I now see that He was prompting me not just for myself but on a larger scale that some agitation — some shaking — would be taking place.

Now this is not a time for me to develop theories on why this is all happening or why God is doing this. I do not take on the responsibility to make reasons and theories as to WHY God is doing a thing; neither do I believe that He is the one who caused this virus although it is all in His purview. This is where Christians venture into error because our wisdom is limited. It’s like assuming someone’s intentions without asking. If you want to know why God is doing a thing, I believe the best thing you can do is ask. If He doesn’t answer and addresses a different matter, it’s usually because our focus is on the wrong thing. I find that He does the latter much more often than the former.

Despite all reasonings, this is an opportunity for the Church to be shaken awake. Below is a message that the Holy Spirit said to me during my quiet time this month. Let the message do to your heart what it must:

The Spirit says:

The Church needs CPR. Far too long the Church took its breath (the Spirit) for granted. So much so that she is choking — on idolatry, selfish gain, pride, lust, sexual immorality, jealousy, disobedience, dishonor, abuse. These are constricting the airways of the body, slowly choking out/stifling the Holy Spirit in their respective bodies (and the Body). Deal with the sin. Deal with what is unsubmitted. Then I will come as a Fresh Wind over and inside the Bride for the Bride to move in power; to move in the design of the Father.

The Church needs to wake up and realize the state she is in. This is a time for the Church to reset. Run to the secret place and allow the Holy Spirit to cut and convict you. Allow the Word of God to wash you. Be more in tune with what the Father is doing in you individually and wants to do through you in the Church collectively. Do not allow this time to pass without you, a member of the Bride of Christ, to repent.

Shift your perspective to Who really matters. Be more diligent and faithful to your assignment. Seek God for clearer vision. Be more diligent in your stewarding. Repent and rekindle your relationship with the Spirit. Rekindle your fear and zeal for the Lord. Understand and acknowledge the person that is the Holy Spirit sent to help and empower, lead and teach, and guide the Church. The Spirit of God that points to and glorifies the person that is Jesus. Adjust your frame. Fix your focus. Get into alignment with what God is doing. There is a violent shaking that will result in a divine alignment. The time is now.
